CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU PHOEBE on Your RETIREMENT of working 30 Years with the County of Los Angeles Public Health Services Department (22 Years at the STD Program Health Education Unit) and 8 years at King-Drew Medical Center and Charles R. Drew Postgraduate Medical School. It has been a wonderful pleasure working with you for so many of these years.



I know that the Compton Unified School District, ABC Unified School District (in Cerritos, Ca.), UCLA School of Public Health, the Community businesses and the many Teen Mom Programs will truly miss your expertise.



I hope that the STD Program will continue the Project that you started 21 years ago called the "Prevention Connection" (Salon/Pharmacy Outreach Project) which won a National Title and was a National Health Award Winner in 1997. Winning the National Health Award put our STD Program on the map and allowed the County of Los Angeles STD Program the opportunity to see you interviewed and seen on the ABC News, the NBC News and Community Cable Shows, and also to have articles written about your Project in the Salon News Magazine, in the L.A. Times, The L.A. Sentinel, and in the Wave Newspapers. Because of you many Agencies in the Los Angeles area as well as other states have adopted your Project Model which you have so generously shared with Companies and Universities throughout your career with the STD Program.



Phoebe, you will sincerely be missed by all of your Colleagues here at the STD Program. Whether you decide to fully retire and rest or whether you decide to continue working elsewhere; I know that you will be a tremendous asset whatever your choice as you continue on your life's career and ventures.



We All Love You Phoebe and you will sincerely be missed. God bless you and may the angels always watch over you. Please keep in touch with us and we look forward to seeing you soon at the Retirement Party that we are throwing in your honor!!
