Biography:
Moved to Compton, California with my family from the South when I was 6 years old. I still reside in Compton (The Hub City)!!

I went to Marian Anderson Elementary School for (3 years) & to John F. Kennedy Elementary School for (3 years) and graduated. I went to Willowbrook Jr. High School and graduated. Then I went to the "Big Ten" Centennial Senior High School and graduated.

After High School I graduated with a B.S. Degree in Health Science from San Diego State University. Started working slowly on my Masters Degree in Public Administration at Cal State University Dominguez Hills.

I have worked in the Health Care Industry for the last 35 years and I have worked as a Health Educator/Project Coordinator for the County of Los Angeles Health Department ( The Sexually Transmitted Disease Program) for the last 22 years, with 30 total L.A. County years. I have won numerous Awards and have been named Employee of the Year twice. I recently won a Community Service Award from Sisters, Inc./Stakeholders Group for educating the community regarding healthcare for the last 35 years.. I go into Junior and Senior High Schools and Teen Mother Programs in Compton, Ca. and the Los Angeles area as a Guest Speaker on STD's.

I started a Project in 1990 called the "Prevention Connection" in which I distribute condoms (free of charge) to various Community Based Agencies; as well as local Beauty Salons, Barber Shops and Pharmacies. This project has won many National Health Awards and has been recognized by many Pharmaceutical Companies, the News Media, Local Newspapers, and very proudly in Washington D.C. at the Presidential Media/Press Conference, it also has been honored many times at the (A.P.H.A.) American Public Health Association Conference Symposiums. The Prevention Connection Project continues to assist over 120 businesses in 17 Cities in the Los Angeles Area in distributing free condoms to their clientele (the project originated in Compton, Ca.).

    Happy Valentine's Day, Phoebe!!

  • Tamara Johnson

    Phoebe,

I'm so sorry to hear about  the loss

    of your 'Brother Searcy' .

My prayers go out to you Phoebe and

    the Macon and Hall Family.

I remember your brother from Willowbrook

Jr. High School and from Centennial.
I remember every morning your brother and

a few other Band members were chosen to

play their bugle horn trumpets before the

    morning announcements.

We students always waited to hear them blow

their horns at the beginning of each school day.

I also remember seeing him in the Apache Band

    at Centennial.

Once again Phoebe, I'm so very sorry about

    the loss of your brother.

Remember I'm here for you Phoebe

whatever you need or if just to talk.

R.I.P.  and Heaven 'Searcy Jerome Macon'!

Love you Phoebe and God bless you!

    Love Tam
