Biography:: I was born in Los Angeles, California at General Hospital, which is now USC Medical Center. I grew up on 121 Street and Central Avenue. I have one older sister and one older brother. My brother graduated from Centennial in 1958.
Family:: I am married to Norman C. Nelson, Jr. My husband was a police detective for Compton Police Department for 25 years. We have 6 children. Four (4) daughters and two (2) sons. We have 21 grandchildren so far!. We have 6 great-grandchildren. One son lives in Germany and has lived there for 22 years. He went into the Army out of high school and was stationed there so he stayed. All the rest of our children live in California. We are so blessed as they are all independent and have good jobs and their own homes.
Interests:: We enjoying traveling all over the world. We have been on 116 cruises and have 3 more planned for this year, so we enjoy cruising. We enjoy RVing and belong to 2 motor home groups.
Occupation:: I retired March 31, 2000. I was a deputy sheriff for Los Angeles County Sheriff Department for 28 1/2 years.
