The Washington Huskies defeated the Hawaii Warriors 40 to 32 in the opening game of the their 2011/20012 College Football season. It was the breakout game for second year QB Keith Price, a Compton resident and St. John Bosco HS Alumni. Keith led the Huskies with 472 yards total offense, but he had help for his team mates and especially Second year WR/ Kick Returner Kevin Smith, a Big Ten Alumni c/o 2009. When Keith was asked who his favorite target was and he answered without hesitation " open recievers". That is the political correct answer for any quarterbact but the real deal was obvious to me. Aside from Kevin being a Compton homeboy, he caught two passes in the last preseason game and could not hold on to a pass after he out ran the defense into the endzone and Keith put a ball in his hands. Today Kevin made up for the droped pass, he touched the ball 3 times, one time he took a pitch on a sweep for 18 yards and a first down as well as two catches for 2 first downs. Kevin is the only current Division 1Football player, that I know of. He 6' 190 lbs of Apache spririt, and we should all be proud.
