The pink & white ice cream truck that came once a week!!!!

The Blue-Chip Stamps Store over by Cressy Park (I remember filling up my book to buy toys!)

Taco Joe's downtown Compton

Riding the RTD for .25 cents

Rosecrans Drive-in

The Skating Rink - was it in Gardena on Rosecrans?

MARY THANKS 4 THAT TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE!!!!!

YOU MENTIONED SEVERAL PLACES THAT I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT!

I TRIED 2 SAVE 4 A FISHING POLE AND IT TOOK ME SSS-OOO LONG THAT I GAVE UP AND GAVE THE STAMPS 2 MY MOM!

TACO JOE'S HAD THE BEST TACOS IN TOWN!

ANYBODY OUT THERE REMEMBER THE SKATING RINK?  WAS IT IN GARDENA ON ROSECRANS?  LET US KNOW!

I remember :

- The Sock Hops at Cressey Park on the weekend

- The Black Students Union Rallys

- The gathering in the School parking lot after the Big Games

- The school song and pride when our band would take the field at half time

THE JOURNEY WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!

WHEN THE BAND TOOK THE FIELD THAT WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOMENTS TOO!!!!!

I'M PICTURING ALL THAT RED AND WHITE NOW AND THE SOUNDS OF THE INSTRUMENTS!!!!!

IT'S NICE 2 REMEMBER MEMORIES!!!!!

OMG!!!!!! Tawnette you name some good ones.  How about:

1.  STOP Taco stand across from the project. 

2.  WLCAC or CCC

3.  Watts Summer Festival

4.  The Old KDAY

5.  Jazz Concerts in the projects

6.  Downtown Compton Taco Stand....I was told it is still there.

7.  The Boys Club on 120th.  Wouldn't let girls in at the time.

THE WATTS SUMMER FESTIVALS WERE THE BEST!!!!! (PEOPLE-MUSIC-FOOD-CRAFTS-PARADE... JUST BASICALLY HAVING GOOD CLEAN FUN!!!!!)

I remember country farms,lol. We use to buy records there also and i remember when it burn down when a car hit it and caught fire.Me and my family watched it.Who remember Newberrys on rosecrans&central/?Fedco in Gardena,Zody's in Lynwood which is the new Lynwood High School and Mongomery Ward in Lynwood where the swatmeet if?
