The Butler Movie Premiere & After Party
THE BUTLER tells the story of a White House butler who served eight American
presidents over three decades. The film traces the dramatic changes that swept
American society during this time, from the civil rights movement to Vietnam and
beyond, and how those changes affected this man’s life and family. Forest Whitaker
stars as the butler with Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower, John Cusack as
Richard Nixon, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan, James Marsden as John F. Kennedy,
Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson, and many more including Oprah Winfrey, Terrence
Howard, Minka Kelly, Melissa Leo, Jane Fonda, and Lenny Kravitz. Academy Award®
nominated Lee Daniels (PRECIOUS) directs and co-wrote the script with Emmy®-award
winning Danny Strong (GAME CHANGE).
Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown and mother Cissy Houston put on a brave face to join the cast of “Sparkle” and celebrate the release of their late mother and daughter's final movie on Thursday at the film’s Los Angeles premiere.
The 19 year old and her boyfriend Nick Gordon, who was informally adopted by Houston when he was 12, smiled for the cameras as they posed on the red carpet at the event, which was also attended by Sparkle stars Jordin Sparks,Tiki Sumpter, Carmen Ejogo, Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Omari Hardwick and Cee Lo Green.
Taking to Twitter before the premiere, Brown messaged Sparks and wrote, “See you tonight mamacita ! I can’t wait . It’s gonna be tough, let’s try to CELEBRATE. love you Jordan”.
She then added, “Time to walk this carpet&rep (represent) mommy like she would want me too (sic)”.
After the screening, an impressed Brown tweeted, “2nite was incredible..! SPARKLE! JordinSparks &all the cast, I Thanku4makinitUNFORGETTABLE (sic)!”

R.I.P. Dear Whitney!!
When I heard the news on Saturday February 11, 2012 that our "Dear Sista Girl" Whitney had passed away; my heart stopped. I was truly hoping that a mistake had been made. I am personally one of Whitney's biggest fans. I have followed Whitney's career from the very start. I have every Album, Music Cassette, Music CDS, VHS Movies, DVD Movies, Concert Videos/DVDs, Magazine Covers, and much more on my Sista Girl Whitney. My heart aches for her family, for her friends, for her fans, for her church members, and for anyone else who loved Whitney. Whitney Houston has left an angelic and indelible mark in our lives and in history. The back to back losses of MJ and Whitney are very hard to take. Their legacy of music will live forever until eternity. My prayers of sympathy and condolences go out to the Houston and Brown family. Although it seems way too soon I guess God needed her & MJ in His Heavenly choir.
Love you guys and God bless us all.
Sincerely and with much sadness,
Phoebe Macon
