Anyone wishing to reunite with Vanguard Jr. High School classmates should come to the Vanguard Jr. High School Annual Picnic which occurs:

EVERY YEAR!

 

We have a blast!  It's a wonderful time, organized by Beverly Jackson (Vanguard, Class of 1967).  Every year, more and more people come.  Mark your calendars---You won't regret it!

WHEN I GRADUATED FROM CARVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MANY OF MY FRIENDS WENT TO VANGUARD.  I MISSED THEM SO MUCH!!  THEN WE REUNITED AGAIN AT CENTENNIAL(CLASS OF 72!!)!!!!!  OH HAPPY DAY!!!

Hi Mary,

I'm from the class of 1967. From 1964 (when I first went to Vanguard) until 1967, no one from the area you (and I) lived in rode the school bus to and from Vanguard. 

 

Only the kids on the other side of Rosecrans, who later attended Compton High, rode the school bus. 

 

I lived on Evers Avenue, between 139th St. and 142nd St. Everyone who lived in that general area either walked, or got a ride, but not on the school bus!  I am speaking strictly from the time periods mentioned above.  I don't know what happened after I graduated from Vanguard.
