From the modest beginnings of his hometown choir in Southern California, Jacob journeyed to win the hearts of over 30 million television viewers weekly during American Idol Season 10. Time aSer 7me, he leS the audience speechless by approaching each song with an unmatched breadth of emo7on. Although an avalanche of praise typically resulted from each performance, his rendi7on of "God Bless the Child" earned “best ever" label from judges Rande Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler.
Subsequent performances of the Motown classic "You're All I Need to Get By" and "A House is Not a Home" drew cri7cal acclaim that garnered comparisons to musical icons Aretha Franklin and Luther Vandross. Jacob graciously embraces the comparison and strives to honor these unforge
Prior to his tenure on American Idol, Jacob was featured in numerous plays across the country and worked with late West Coast Hip-Hop pioneer Nate Dogg who is heralded for his collabora7ons with Dr. Dre, Tupac and Snoop Dogg. Over the past year, Jacob has performed with Empress of Soul Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, and gospel star Kirk Franklin. But it’s not just performers who recognize his giSs. Jacob has proudly recorded with super-producers Tricky Stewart, R. Kelly, Rodney Jerkins, Ray Chew, Harvey Mason Jr. and the legendary Don Was. Currently working with R. Kelly’s musical director, Donnie Lyle, Jacob is signed to Mountain Crest Group, ENT./ Universal Music Distribu7on and set to release his debut single in Fall 2014.
