CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL "APACHE TRIVIA (LITTLE KNOWN FACTS)"!!
1- Most Apaches believe that the Class of 1955 was the "First" Apache Graduating Class (BUT) it was not. The Class of 1954 was the "Very First' Graduating Class from Centennial High School. The Class of 1954 (ONLY HAD 5 GRADUATES IN IT).
Here's a Photo of one of the 1954 Graduates!!

WHAT A WONDERFUL PIECE OF HISTORY!!

2- As of July 18, 2011: FINALLY (Centennial High School-Compton, Ca.) has a Wikipedia page. So check it out when you get a chance and learn the "Big Ten" Centennial High School's history. The page has a lot of info. left off; but I'm sure that it will eventually be modified by those older Apaches who know more about the history of Centennial.

6- Steven Windom c/o '76 came up with an idea/vision to pull a few Classes together and start the very 1st Joint Class Reunion for the Classes of 1974-1978. Steven was the Joint Reunion Chairperson and he asked Webmaster Wayne Wayne Ware c/o '75 to be his Co-Chair, and me Phoebe Macon c/o '75 to be the Treasurer. Steven recruited Representatives from each Class and made them responsible for selling tickets to their classmates. Those Representatives were (Dascha Edmond-Brooks c/o '74, Janet Williams c/o '75, Frances Barnes-Dent c/o '77, Constance Washington-Phillips c/o '77, Lillian Haswell-Carter c/o '77, and Debra Hamilton-Denton c/o '78). Needless to say the 1st Joint Class Reunion was a "Big Hit" in October 2008 at the Compton Crystal Hotel & Casino (Compton, Ca.). So many people loved it and before they left they were asking us to have another one for that next year. We did not have one in 2009 but ...................
The 2nd Joint Class Reunion, now this one was (For All Centennial High Alumni Class of 1954 -2010) took place in October of 2010, in the Upstairs Ballroom at the Lakewood Centre (Lakewood, Ca.). This time Webmaster Wayne c/o '75 was the Chairperson, Steven Windom c/o '76 was the Co-Chair, and me Phoebe Macon c/o '75 was the Treasurer. This time we three were the only Commitee members and no other Class recruitment took place. BUT Once again the Joint Class Reunion was a "Big Hit" the 2nd time around; however it had a few less people to attend the event primarily due to the world's economic recession. But for those who were there they told us that they had a blast. They danced and ate the night away with good food, they bought t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc. from the the vendor Carl Hill and they left the event with their own personal photos taken by Greg Majors Photography and they possibly left with a framed award certificate or gift. All who attended received a picture framed gift in a red gift bag. Also for both Joint Class Reunion (all) of the Table Centerpieces were made by me Phoebe Macon (they were also take-away gifts at the end of the evening)!!
HOPEFULLY AS LONG AS APACHES ARE INTERESTED THE JOINT CLASS REUNION TRADITION WILL LIVE ON & WILL CONTINUE ON!!
Below is the Glass Double-Sided Framed Gift that everyone took home!!
